Is it worth buying a local SIM once I arrive in the UK, or is an eSIM easier?

For most travellers an eSIM wins in the UK: you're online the second you land (no queuing at a kiosk or language barrier), you keep your home number for calls/texts, and there's no physical SIM to swap or lose. A local SIM can occasionally be cheaper for very heavy, long-term use, but for typical trips the eSIM is far more convenient.

Skipped the airport SIM queue in the UK and was so glad I did.

Did this on my last trip and it worked perfectly.
