Can I top up my Dubai plan mid-trip without a new QR code?

I'm three days into a week in Dubai and my data is nearly gone. Do I need to buy a whole new plan with a fresh QR code, or can I just add more data to the eSIM I already have? I'd rather not reinstall anything while I'm here.

No new QR code needed. Open the app, pick your Dubai eSIM, and choose a top-up, the extra data attaches to the same plan and usually activates within a minute or two.

Did this exact thing last month in Deira. Topped up from the app while sitting in a cafe and it kicked in before my coffee arrived.

Just double check you're topping up the right eSIM if you have more than one installed. I nearly added data to my old Japan line by mistake.

Top-ups stack on top of whatever you have left, so the remaining data isn't lost. If nothing shows after a few minutes, toggle airplane mode on and off to refresh the network connection.

I topped up twice during a two-week stay and never had to touch the QR code again. Way less hassle than hunting for a local SIM shop in the heat.

One tip, do it while you're on Wi-Fi or still have a bit of data left. Trying to buy a top-up with zero connection is a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation.

Mine activated almost instantly near Dubai Marina. If you're out in the desert somewhere, give it a few extra minutes for the signal to catch up.

Honestly the mid-trip top-up is the main reason I stick with eSIMs now. No queueing at the airport counter, just tap and carry on.
