Should I install my Turkey eSIM before I fly or after I land?

I'm heading to Istanbul next week and I'm not sure when to install the eSIM. Do I need to wait until I'm actually in Turkey, or can I set it up at home before I leave? Also, will it start using data immediately once installed?

You can and should install the eSIM before you fly. The installation just adds the plan to your phone; it won't activate until you connect to a network in Turkey. Once you land and turn off airplane mode, it will automatically connect and start your plan.
