Should I install the eSIM before or after landing in Turkey?

I'm flying to Istanbul next week and I'm not sure if I should install the Turkey eSIM before I leave or wait until I land. I've heard some people say to do it at home, but I'm worried it might activate too early and waste data. What's the best approach?
