If I switch data to the eSIM in Italy, does WhatsApp still work on my normal number?
Will my WhatsApp keep working in Italy with an eSIM?

Yes! The eSIM only carries data. Your normal SIM stays active, so WhatsApp, iMessage, calls and texts all keep working on your usual number while you use the eSIM for data in Italy. Nothing to re-register.

WhatsApp worked totally normally for me in Italy.
